Who is responsible for your data

Maximilian Lyonel Larsen, trading as Munchtable, ul. Kujawska 33/2, 88-150 Kruszwica, Poland ("Munchtable", "we", "us") is the controller of your personal data. Contact: business@munchtable.com.

What we collect

Order details: your name, email address, billing details, country, what you bought, the price and your order number. We sell PDF files only, so we never need a shipping address.
Payment details: processed by Shopify and its payment partners. We never see or store your full card number.
Email sign-ups: your email address and which form you used (for example, the free recipes or a campaign link).
Messages: what you write to us by email or through the contact form.
Device and usage data: IP address, browser, device and the pages you visit, collected by Shopify and, only if you agree, by analytics and marketing cookies.

Why we use it and on what legal basis

To sell and deliver your book, send your order and download emails, and handle refunds and complaints: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
To keep invoices and accounting records: our legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
To send free recipes, our newsletter and offers: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can unsubscribe at any time with one click.
To use analytics and marketing cookies, including the Meta and TikTok pixels: your consent through the cookie banner (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
To keep the store secure, prevent fraud, answer your messages and defend legal claims: our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

You don't have to give us your data, but we can't complete an order without your email address and payment details.

Shopify, which hosts the store and runs checkout, payments and our emails on our behalf. For some of its own features Shopify acts as an independent controller. See the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy.
Payment providers that process your payment.
Meta (Facebook, Instagram) and TikTok, only if you accept marketing cookies, to measure and show our ads.
Our accountant and public authorities, when the law requires it.

We never sell your personal data for money.

International transfers

Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area, for example in Canada or the United States. In that case the transfer relies on a European Commission adequacy decision or on the Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Orders and invoices: as long as tax and accounting law requires. In Poland this is generally 5 years from the end of the year in which the tax was due.
Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
Messages: as long as we need them to deal with your request and any related claim.
Cookies: as described in our Cookie policy.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict its use, or to send it to you or another company in a portable format. You can object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time; this doesn't affect what we did before. Email business@munchtable.com and we will reply within one month.

You can also complain to the Polish supervisory authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw, uodo.gov.pl), or to the authority in your own country.

US residents: depending on your state, you can opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal data for targeted advertising on Your privacy choices. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as such an opt-out.

Children

Our books are for parents and families. The store isn't meant for children, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you think a child has given us their data, email us and we will delete it.

Automated decisions

We don't make decisions about you based only on automated processing.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will publish the new version here and update the date at the top.
